Overview
Ticket expiration ensures tighter control over ticket redemption by setting a limit on how long a ticket remains valid. This feature depends on printers configured to include timestamps and is available on version 1.2.0 or higher.
Ticket Expiration Settings
Expiration rules are enforced based on the timestamp printed on each ticket. These settings are configured under Settings → Expiration.
Enable Expiration
When enabled, tickets with timestamps will expire after the configured number of days.
Expired tickets cannot be redeemed unless a partial payout is pending (see below).
Days Until Expiration
Sets the number of days a timestamped ticket remains valid from the date of printing.
Once expired, tickets are marked as invalid.
Pay Partial Tickets After Expiry
Ensures customer satisfaction by allowing partial redemptions to be completed even after expiration.
Only applies to tickets that were initially redeemed before expiration but could not be paid out in full due to insufficient cash.
Allow Non-Timestamped Tickets
Enabled: Allows redemption of tickets that do not contain a printed timestamp. These tickets will never expire.
Disabled: Tickets without a timestamp will be rejected automatically. Useful for enforcing strict expiration policies.
Time Zone
Defines the time zone used for interpreting all ticket timestamps.
This should match the time zone configured on your printers to avoid misinterpretation of print or expiration dates.
Example: A ticket timestamped
11/01/2025 8:00 PMwill be interpreted as 8:00 PM EST if the time zone is set to Eastern.
Restrained Redemption
- Enabled: Limits the number of ticket redemptions allowed within a defined time period. Once the limit is exceeded, the kiosk will enter an out-of-order (lockout) state.
- Disabled: No limit on the amount of redeemed tickets.
Redemption Cycle Duration
- Specifies the length of time during which redemptions are monitored before a lockout is triggered.
Ticket Limit Per Redemption Cycle
- Sets the maximum number of tickets that can be redeemed within the specified redemption cycle duration.
Redemption Lockout Duration
- Determines how long the kiosk will remain out of order once a lockout is triggered.
