If the bill acceptor is receiving power but not accepting bills, it is likely that the unit is misconfigured for the host machine. To test this, we can adjust the DIP switches located on the bottom of the bill acceptor.
By default, all DIP switches should be in the OFF position as shown below, which allows the configuration to be controlled by the internal programming of the unit. If any switches are set differently, it may override the internal settings and prevent proper operation.
Machine Enabled
To begin, turn DIP Switches 1 through 5 to the ON position, while leaving switches 6 through 8 in the OFF position. Once the switches are set, remove power from the bill acceptor and then reconnect it. After the unit reboots—indicated by the sound of initialization—try inserting a bill. If the bill is accepted and stacked, this indicates the configuration is correct for your machine. If the bill is not accepted, move on to the next troubleshooting step.
Pulse Enabled
If the previous step did not result in the bill being accepted, your machine is likely using a PULSE configuration. To test this, set all DIP Switches (1 through 8) to the ON position. Once set, remove power from the bill acceptor and then reconnect it. After the unit reboots—signaled by the initialization sound—insert a bill. If the bill is accepted and stacked, this confirms the correct configuration for your machine.
If neither DIP Switch settings are accepting bills, contact support.
