Apex Configuration Card Instructions

1. Power On
   Locate the DIP switches on the bottom of the unit and ensure all DIP switches are set to OFF before applying power to the bill acceptor, as shown below. (more information)

   

2. Enter Configuration Mode
   Press and hold the Diagnostic Pushbutton (located on the unit’s left side) for at least 10 seconds, then release. The bezel lights will flash 10 times, indicating the unit has entered Configuration Mode.

   

   

3. Prepare the Configuration Card
   Print the Configuration Cards and fill in the bubbles for your desired settings.
   We recommend using a a felt tip pen and re-filling any pre-filled black bubbles to improve readability.
   
   The card pictured below is an example for an Always Enabled Pulse acceptor.

   

4. Insert Configuration Card
   Insert the card arrows first, printed side up. The acceptor will briefly hold the card and then return it.

   

5. Successful Configuration
   If the bezel lights flash rapidly, the configuration has been saved and the unit will automatically reset.

   

6. Error Handling
   If the bezel lights flash slowly, the card was not read correctly. The unit will remain in Configuration Mode until a valid card is read or power is removed.
   Verify that all bubbles are completely filled before reinserting the configuration card. It may take multiple attempts for the card to be read successfully.
