1. Enable “Unique USB Serial Number” in Reliance Tools:
- Launch the Reliance Tools software.
- Navigate to the Print Config section.
- Locate the option labeled USB Serial Number.
- Enable this setting by clicking the slider to the right.
- Save the changes and close Reliance Tools.
2. Uninstall the Driver via Device Manager:
- Right-click the
Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand the appropriate category, such as Ports (COM & LPT) or Printers until you locate the printer.
- Right-click the entry corresponding to the device.
- Select Uninstall device.
- In the confirmation prompt, check Attempt to remove the driver for this device, if the option is available, and click Uninstall.
- Physically unplug the USB device from the computer to prepare for a clean driver reinstallation.
3. Reconnect the USB Device and Allow Driver Installation:
- Plug the USB device back into the computer.
- Wait for Windows to automatically detect the hardware and initiate the driver installation process.
- Allow the process to complete. If successful, the device should appear without any warning symbols in Device Manager.
4. Locate and Install the Pyramid Technologies Driver:
- Open the
Start menu, type Windows Update, and select it from the search results.
- Click Check for updates.
- If available, click on View optional updates or if using Windows 11, click on Advanced Options.
- Within the Optional updates section, expand the Driver updates category.
- Look for an entry labeled similarly to:
- “Pyramid Technologies – Ports – [Device Name or Description]”
- Select this update by checking the corresponding box, then click Download and install.
- Wait for the installation to complete. Restart your system if prompted.
