Pro-2 Programmer Quick Start Guide

Overview

The Pyramid PRO-2 Programmer is a portable firmware update tool for Apex bill acceptors. Once loaded from a PC, it enables on-site updates without the need for a computer.

Programming the PRO-2

1. Connect the PRO-2 to your PC via USB.

2. Open the PRO-2 Tools application.

3. Click Connect to establish communication.

4. Click Browse and select the desired firmware file (.PDB or .PTI).

5. Click Program to begin the update.

   • The LED will flash red/green during programming.

   • Do not disconnect the device until programming is complete.

6. When the LED is solid green, the device is ready for use.

Updating a Bill Acceptor

1. Apply power to the bill acceptor.

2. Connect the PRO-2 to the 6-pin Flash Memory Port.

3. Observe the LED to monitor update status.

4. When the LED turns solid green, the process is complete.

5. Disconnect the PRO-2 and power-cycle the acceptor if necessary.
