Firmware Update Instructions

Step 1: Connect Hardware and Open Reliance Tools

• Ensure the printer is powered on before connecting the printer to your PC using the USB Type A to Type B cable. Open the Reliance Tools application.

 

Step 2: Select Firmware Tab

• In the Reliance Tools interface, click on the “Flash Update” tab.

 

Step 3: Locate the Firmware File

• Click “Browse” to locate your .ptix firmware file on your computer.

 

Step 4: Select the Firmware File

• Navigate to the correct .ptix file, select it, and click “Open.”

 

Step 5: Start the Flash Update

• Verify the file appears under the Browse field then click “Flash Update” to begin the firmware update process. The update will take approximately 30 seconds.

 

Step 6: Confirm Firmware Version

• Once the process completes, the new firmware version will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. If updating multiple printers, repeat Step 5 for each printer. There's no need to close the application.
