These settings can be found in the Platinum Tools app while a printer is connected to the PC.
Hardware & Mechanical
-
Bezel – Selects the type of bezel lighting while in normal operation.
Solid On sets the LED to stay on during operation.
Flashing sets the LED to blink on and off during operation.
Double Stack – Determines whether each accepted bill stacks once (Off) or twice (On).
Down-stacker Mode – Configures whether bills are stacked downward into the cashbox (commonly used in compact installations).
Cashbox Capacity – Sets the expected cashbox size (number of bills).
Anti-Fraud & Security
Lock On Cheat – Enables a security feature that temporarily locks the acceptor if a suspected fraudulent bill or tampering attempt is detected. This protects both the unit and the contents of the cashbox.
Randomized Lockout Period – When enabled, introduces a variable delay between the detection of a cheat attempt and the ability to reinsert bills. This randomization prevents exploitation by repeat tampering.
Cheat Lockout Seconds – Specifies the duration, in seconds, that the acceptor remains locked after a detected cheat attempt. During this period, no bills can be accepted, giving the operator time to review the situation.
-
Bill Security – Adjusts the level of authentication and validation applied to bills:
Low – Faster acceptance, minimal scanning, and reduced anti-fraud checks.
Medium – Balanced speed and counterfeit protection.
High – Slower acceptance, maximum optical and magnetic validation.
Platinum also incorporates MAS (Mechanical Anti-Stringing Lever) and OAS (Optical Anti-Stringing Sensor) to physically and electronically deter stringing attacks.
Operational
Enabled Directions – Configures the acceptor to accept bills only in specific orientations (e.g., face-up, face-down). Proper configuration ensures that all valid bills are accepted while reducing the chance of jams or misreads.
